Post FMT

The aim of the FMT is to reset your gut microbiota and recolonise your gut with a completely new and healthy balance of good bacteria with a large biodiversity and mass. In order to assist the recolonisation process it is important that you continue to nourish the new bacteria that are attempting to terra-form in your colon.


They require a steady source of food and fuel to permanently change your microbiome for the better and need occasional top ups of bacteria from time to time. This can be achieved by allowing this protocol and continuing a monthly FMT top up.


Following your human faecal microbial transplant it is important that you follow these basic lifestyle rules to achieve the best result possible.

Post FMT Protocol

Your diet must change to a HIGH FIBRE DIET after your first FMT and we recommend that you maintain this high fibre diet to enable the new flora to be strong enough to survive and implant.


Wash raw foods in water before consuming to remove pesticide residues.


1. Diet Eat Daily Any 3 Servings From This List

  • Eat gluten free pasta, brown rice, gluten free paleo muesli
  • Pulses - lentils, peas, beans, chick peas if you can tolerate them
  • A cup green salad with cold-pressed olive oil and vinegar
  • A cup of cruciferous vegetables - broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, 
  • Red, yellow, purple vegetables - squash, capsicum, beetroot, cabbage,
  • Half a cup of any of the following - quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, nuts, seeds
  • Half cup of berries and fruit salad
  • Eat full-fat Greek yoghurt with live cultures
  • Eat fermented foods such as keffir, sauerkraut, kimchi
  • Eat a serve of fish or seafood daily
  • Eat a serve of chicken, turkey, pork loin, lamb loin 3 times a week
  • Eat a serve of lean red meat 3 times week (must be grass fed, not corn fed)

2. Synbiotic

  • take 1 scoop of supergreens/probiotic mix in water daily (not suitable for patients with fructose intolerance) 

3. Things to Avoid

  • Antiseptic mouth wash
  • GLUTEN - wheat rye barley
  • Sugar
  • Oysters, shellfish
  • Processed meats
  • Take away food
  • Soft drink
  • Alcohol for 2 weeks
  • Avoid travel to Asia/Africa for 1 month
  • Processed canned or packet food and sauces

4. Do not take any antibiotics

  • unless approved by the FMT clinic
